Falstaff and Me
Brief Rant on My Fellow In-Betweenials

by Roscid Cup

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
— Paul, 1 Cor. 13:11

Things I want to say to my fellow In-Betweenials — those who are too young to be Gen-Xers but too old to be Millennials:

  • Ghostbusters is just a movie. There. I said it.
  • I really don’t care whether or not Belle from Beauty and the Beast had Stockholm syndrome. It’s a cartoon. A cartoon.
  • For that matter, I am frankly indifferent over the Disney Princess thing, except that it sort of annoys me that it is a thing.

I’m only bringing this up because in the pass couple years my generation hasn’t shut up about this stuff, especially the 80’s and 90’s entertainment of their childhood.

Is this because people my age (myself included) have a lot of student debt over a less-than-worth-it college education and feel the need to justify it by academically over-thinking the stupidest things?

Or is it because our species is devolving (remember Devo? Never mind…)? Boomers never stopped being in their twenties. Gen-Xers never stopped being in their teens. And In-Betweenials never stopped being a ten-year-old Ninja Turtles fan, I guess.
